White Gum

Dunn’s White Gum (E. dunnii) is a large hardwood tree with a mature height up to 50 meters and a diameter at breast height of up to 1.5 meters.

Touchwood has selected this tree as being suitable for a forestry management project given that its form is generally excellent with a clear straight bole up to 30 - 35 meters in height.

The species is a proven successful plantation species for growing in north - eastern New South Wales, Australia and South East Queensland, Australia.

Recent research has concluded that Dunn’s White Gum is capable of producing high quality timber when grown in managed forestry plantations.

There is a high potential for profits to be attained from saw log sales from Touchwood’s White Gum project given that demand for timber is increasing while some Australian states are facing a potential ban on native forest logging
