Patents and Licenses
Agriculture is increasingly becoming the focus of researchers and industry keen to apply technology. Often research involves a substantial investment so organisations seek to protect their investments through patents, licenses and other legal methods. Forestry is no exception. For managed forestry to increase yields tenfold over nature technology must be used and occasionally this involves the use of specialized techniques regarded as intellectual property.
Touchwood maintains the best possible forestry practices utilizing the most productive and environmentally beneficial methods available. Sri Lanka and Thailand have both achieved ISO 9001 certification with the aim of certifying all of Touchwood’s operations globally.
The Touchwood Forestry Co., Ltd. (TFC) in Thailand holds the exclusive distribution rights for the Cultivated Agarwood inoculation technology patented by the University of Minnesota. The technology is being patented in Thailand and other Agarwood producing countries.
