Chairman's Message

Research conducted during the 1990s identified that forestry as traditionally managed by governments suffered from poor land usage effectiveness due to squeezed budgets, resulting in limited funding and disjointed management due to the long gestation period required for timber production. The initial idea behind Touchwood was therefore to develop a range of forestry investment products via applying privately funded expertise in forestry management and tree growth techniques to this gap in the market in order to produce efficient volumes of high quality timber in Asia from commercially valuable and environmentally sensitive species of trees.

Touchwood’s growth over the past decade has resulted from a combination of building a multicultural team of the best people and applying the latest technology to ensure that the company benefitted from being within one of the fastest growing business sectors of recent years i.e. the environment. Change management is a key issue in ensuring that Touchwood continues to grow as a sector-leading dynamic business.

Touchwood provides a new way of life which values everything that is good i.e. the environment, our children’s future and the future of generations to come.
