Touchwood’s Plantation In Australia
Touchwood Investments Australia Pty. Ltd. (TIA) operates a plantation of Australian native hardwood at Haly Creek near the town of Kingaroy in the South Burnett region of the state of Queensland. Haly Creek is located 200 kilometers north west of the state capital Brisbane.
The Kingaroy area has long been regarded as a prime agricultural area famous for producing peanuts and navy beans and more recently, as a wine growing region expected to rival the Hunter and Barossa valleys. The Kingaroy Shire is home to over 12,000 people.
The area enjoys hot, dry summers and cool winters with overall low humidity. Average temperatures range from 11 to 24 degrees Celsius and 800mm annual rainfall. The landscape is one of low rolling hills and rich volcanic soils.
